Angelo Transmissions is an auto repair shop in Erie, Pennsylvania. It is listed at 214 W 16th St, Erie, PA 16502, which places it among the local businesses of Erie that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

In Erie, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across Pennsylvania vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 8 am–4:45 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (814) 453-5148. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, angelotransmissionserie.com.

Its Google rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 109 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

Erie is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Erie peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Great people! Our vehicle needed a new transmission, which we did not end up installing, but Angelo's was kind enough to keep our vehicle while we decided what we were going to do. When my wife finally showed up to clean out the car and grab the license plate, they were kind enough to remove the plate for her and were very helpful! I would definitely return if I ever needed a transmission repair.

My Jeep needed its transmission rebuilt. It was diagnosed quickly and the guys were great about communicating with us about it. The parts took longer than expected (not the fault of the shop, it’s just the way things are right now) and it was 4 weeks before it was finished. It’s running great! Only reason for losing a star is due to the fact that the guys smoke in the garage and I am unsure how long my jeep was in the garage but it STINKS. My eyes were watering and my throat was scratchy from the residual smoke just from the drive home - and that was with me driving in 30-something degree weather in the rain with my windows down with the back hatch also open. I’ve cleaned it, washed my carpet/upholstery, aired it out and it STILL smells. Just something to be mindful of. Not everyone smokes and those of us who don’t, can be very sensitive to it.

These guys are knowledgeable, professional and straight shooters. They don't beat around the bush. Their prices are fair and their work is reliable. I have no complaints.

Transmission went on our vehicle and we have 4 kids and 3 with disabilities plus my husband works in North east so we absolutely need our vehicle and we heard good things about Angelo's and we where not let down. Awesome place and fair. A transmission is not a cheap fix and they worked with us on a fair payment that didn't leave us without a vehicle for longer then we already had to be! We are so grateful we came here and can't recommend them enough if your in need of a fair and pretty quick repair shop this is for sure where we will continue to come for our vehicle repairs. Thanks so much we are extremely grateful to have our vehicle back on the road!

My son bought a 1993 diesel F250 automatic at the age of 14. It is a project truck, he and his buddy have been doing work to it the past 16 months. This past fall my boy and his friend removed the transmission and I took it to Angelo's as a "bench job" (out of vehicle). I pickup it up from the shop and the boys reinstalled it over the winter and drove it on the driveway this spring. About a month ago, with only a few miles on it, the reverse gear quit working. I was going to call, but figured I would make time to visit Angelo's in person. I thought there might be a bit of a negotiation, but they are, at this point standing behind their work 100% and committed to making it right. I just need to get the truck there. Kuddos to this shop!
